We use two different types of cookies on our website: session cookies and persistent cookies.

Session cookies are necessary for the operation of the online shop. Without them no products can be put into the basket and no orders can be made.

You can change the cookie settings in your browser options. The use of cookies is not harmful to the security settings on your PC and does not transfer viruses or spy on your computer.

You can use our website without activating cookies however, there will be certain restrictions of functions and a reduced quality of service. Unfortunately offers and customised information about products are also not possible.

Technical standard – HTTPS/TLS encryption

We use the most modern security methods for data transfer to protect your data: the latest version of the TLS protocol 1.2, 1.1 and 1.0. Our certificate based on a large 2048-bit key has been signed by SHA256. In addition, we also provide Perfect Forward Secrecy, so that no conclusions from our secret key for partially compromised information are allowed. All transferred information (as well as the address/website URL) is encrypted with this method.

A high security standard can also have some disadvantages. For example, our website cannot be visited via Internet-Explorer 6 on Windows XP computers.

The passwords we save for customer logins are made unreadable for third parties because we use constantly updated one-way codes (we are currently using""bcrypt""). We use random individual characters for each saved password (called salt).

ORION does not save credit card details. If you pay with credit card we only receive a cryptic reference number from the bank and payment service providers and this is what we save.

Usage of web analysis services

We use different web analysis services on our internet pages; these mainly use so-called cookies.

Google Analytics

On our website we use Google Analytics, a service of Google Inc.

Google Analytics uses cookies, i.e. text files that are stored on the user's computer and allow an analysis of the use of the site by the user. The accumulated information on the use of the site (including your IP address) will be transmitted normally to a server of Google in the USA and stored there.

To anonymize the IP, we use on our website the extension "anonymizeIP", by which your IP- address is shortened by Google within the Member States of the European Union or other parties to the Agreement on the European Economic Area.

Only in exceptional cases the complete IP address is transmitted to a Google server in the USA and shortened there.

On our behalf, Google will use the information generated to evaluate your use of our websites, compiling reports on website activity under orion.de and provide us with other website and internet related services.

Under no circumstances will Google combine the IP-address data collected by Google analytics with other data stored by Google.

Google may transfer the information collected by Google Analytics to third parties in case Google is obliged by law or if third parties process this data on behalf of Google.

For our web services we have implemented Google analytics reports about the performance by demographic characteristics and interests. We use data obtained by Google via interest-based advertising as well as user information from third parties (e.g. age, gender, interests) as part of Google analytics.

As a user of our web presence you can prevent the storage of the cookies by changing the settings of your browser.

We hereby inform you that in this case you may not be able to make use of all functions of our web presence.

Moreover you can object to the collection and processing of the data, including the IP-address, generated by the use of cookies and prevent Google from using the data by downloading and installing the browser plugin, available by the following link: http://tools.google.com/dlpage/gaoptout?hl=en

We point out that on our website Google analytics has been extended by “gat._anonymizeIp()” to ensure an anonymous collection of IP addresses, called IP masking.

Google Analytics Adwords Remarketing

We also use Google analytics with the service Google adwords remarketing services. This Google service uses cookies, which are stored on the user's computer and allow an analysis of the manner of use of the web presence by the user. The collected data, including the user's IP address are transmitted to Google in the U.S. and stored there. Google truncates the IP address to the last three digits, so that an assignment to a particular user is not possible.

Google will use the data obtained to evaluate the use of our website by the user to create reports about the activities of the user for us and to provide other services in this regard to us.

Information obtained by Googles` use of the service will be transmitted by Google to third parties if this is required by law or regulations or in case third parties collect data obtained for Google on their behalf. Due to the use of cookies and the information obtained from earlier visits of the user on our website, Google and other third parties have the opportunity to insert advertising in our web presence.

Similarly, advertisements of our company can be connected to the internet offers from third parties or Google itself. Google will not combine the user's IP address with other data stored by Google.

In case you do not want the above service, you can disable the function via the Ads Preferences Manager http://www.google.com/settings/ads/onweb/?hl=en the function at any time.

We hereby inform you that in this case you may not be able to make use of all functions of our web presence.

Google Double-Click

We also use the Google DoubleClick cookie. For this service Google uses cookies when the user looks at an advertisement for our internet service or clicks on a banner ad for our offer. This allows to display interesting advertising to the user. The service also gives information about whether the user is viewing an advertisement, click on them and then a buying action is taken in our web presence. All data is anonymous and pseudonymous collected and used. IP addresses are changed immediately after the transfer in a way that an assignment to the created user profiles is not possible.

Unless you do not want the above use of the service, you can turn off the function by disabling cookies in your browser.
